US DOT Truck Decals, Vinyl & Business Signs in Algonquin

Algonquin sits on the Fox River at Routes 62 and 31, and its owner-operators, tow operators and contractor fleets come to us for US DOT and MC decals, GVWR, trailer numbers and magnetic signs. Twenty-five minutes down Route 62 and most sets are cut while you wait.

Your sign company, right down the road from Algonquin

Algonquin straddles the McHenry and Kane county line where Route 62 meets Route 31, close enough to the Fox River trades that most of what we letter here is contractor and landscape trucks. About twenty-five minutes east along Algonquin Road — the same road our shop sits on — and a compliant set is cut while you wait.

Algonquin truck decal FAQs

I run a tow truck. What has to be on the doors?
The same carrier identification as any other powered commercial vehicle if you are operating as a carrier — legal name and USDOT number, both sides, legible from fifty feet. Towing picks up extra display rules on top of that depending on what kind of work you do, particularly private-property relocation in Illinois, so bring your licensing paperwork and we will letter to it rather than to the general case.
Can you cut the numbers in reflective vinyl for night work?
Yes, and it is a common request out here. Worth knowing that it is a choice, not a requirement — the rule asks for sharp colour contrast and daylight legibility from fifty feet, and says nothing about reflectivity. Reflective earns its keep when your truck is the one parked on a shoulder at 2 a.m., not because an inspector expects it.
I bought a used truck with the previous owner's numbers still on it. Can you take those off?
Yes, and it needs doing before the new set goes on rather than around it. Running someone else's USDOT number is a worse problem than running none, and a half-scraped old number under fresh vinyl shows up the moment the sun hits the door at an angle.
