Yes, and that is the practical reason to have one shop do them. We keep the artwork, so the twelfth van gets the same font, the same size and the same position as the first one instead of drifting a little each time somebody re-types it.

Our trailers sit in the yard with one side in the sun all day. Does that side fade faster?

It does — the sun-facing side always goes first, and on a trailer that never turns around, that is the same side for years. It is worth checking that side once a season: the rule is that the marking stays legible, so a number that has gone chalky is a problem even though nothing fell off.
