Serving Schiller Park, IL
US DOT Truck Decals, Vinyl & Business Signs in Schiller Park
Schiller Park sits on O'Hare's southern edge, where courier fleets, hotshot rigs and cargo vans run all day. We letter them properly — US DOT and MC numbers sized to the federal rule, GVWR, company name and magnetic signs when the truck doubles as a personal vehicle.
Your sign company, right down the road from Schiller Park
Most Schiller Park work reaches us off Irving Park Road and Mannheim, and a good share of it is drivers leased onto somebody else's authority — which changes what belongs on the door. Tell us whose authority you run under and we cut the set that matches it, in an afternoon, instead of guessing from a photo of the last truck.

Schiller Park truck decal FAQs
- I run a hotshot — pickup and gooseneck. Does the USDOT number go on the truck, the trailer, or both?
- On the truck. The federal marking rule covers self-propelled commercial vehicles, and a trailer is not self-propelled, so the carrier identification belongs on both sides of the pickup. Plenty of owners still put a unit number on the gooseneck, but that is for their own yard and insurance, not for the inspector.
- My Sprinter is under 10,001 pounds. Do I need a USDOT number at all?
- Not from the weight alone. The federal threshold starts at 10,001 pounds, and below it the number is normally triggered by something else — placardable hazmat or carrying passengers for hire. Illinois has its own rules for trucks that never leave the state, so bring your registration and authority paperwork and we cut what it actually says rather than guessing from the curb weight.
- The van is leased to a courier company and their name is on the contract. Whose name goes on the door?
- The carrier actually operating it. Under the federal rule a leased vehicle carries the operating carrier's legal name and USDOT number — so if you are running under the courier's authority, it is their name and their number, not yours. If you hold your own authority and they are just the customer, it is the other way around.
